Z axis install

Machine: K40

Board: Cohesion3D LaserBoard

Firmware: I have a new board and I’m using whatever it came with

I have connected the driver with the External stepper driver signal cable.

I have matched the pairs from the stepper motor and connected them to B+ / B- and A+ / A-
The external power supply has 24 volts out going to GND and VCC

I have changed the dip switches on the driver to:
1&2 are off
3&4 are on
5 is off
6 is on

I have changed the config.text

In light burn I have enabled the Z axis

When I power up the laser I have the ability to move X & Y but not Z
The driver is showing a red light.

I am at a loss why I can’t seem to get this to work.

These are instructions for the Cohesion3D Mini, but you have a Cohesion3D LaserBoard.

Make sure the signal wires are connected correctly based on this:

Make sure you strip the signal wires a bit, one guy had them not making contact because the insulation was in the way and it was literally the last thing I went to after a lot of back and forth and me saying “we’ve ruled out everything else, try this.”

I’m not sure how much stuff you changed in the config file. Definitely remove the !o from the end of the gamma pin definitions.
