Jerky / jaggedy / wavey line on X axis (smoothie / k40 / LaserBoard)

Machine: k40
Board: Cohesion3D LaserBoard
Firmware: Smoothie

I have an issue drawing straight lines on the X axis. They always seem to turn out wavey/jaggedy

The lines that i’m trying to vector engrave are these:

I’ve tried multiple speed settings inside of Lightburn, ranging from 60mm/s to 150mm/s.

I’ve tempered with the following highlighted properties in the config file:

My current firmware config file: config.txt (28.4 KB)

With the current config file I have reached this result and I feel somewhat stuck:

I don’t think the issue is the motor/belt since for long stretches it seems to be doing okay:

Is it time to consider investigating the belt or is there more that I can do in the config?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Decrease your acceleration (top of your screenshot) and also the default_seek_rate - each by by quite a bit.

I’ll give it a try, but just so I understand better… aren’t the axis acceleration parameters overwrites of the general acceleration for those particular axis movements?

I found this reply from you explaining the default_seek_rate which is quite helpful so i’ll put it here: Laser head movement speed adjustment

Thanks! I’ll come back with results.
